MOVE IT!
A Radical Approach to Professional Dance Training
In my own practice, I have a long tested approach to teaching which is in it's essence, holistic and humanistic, but it's more than that, and varies to it in many areas. With this in mind, it has become important to document that practice, focus on the detail of what has and is effective in my approach, what existing methods can it align with and are there any new areas to uncover in not only describing the holistic teacher, but improving her. I am creating a digital resource which encapsulates and summarises decades of experience and contemporary evidence in the key areas of professional dance training in the 21st century landscape.

RESEARCH
I am conducting a multi layered practice based research while referencing current literature, documented practice, resources available digitally and through connected practice in tandem with an auto ethnological approach to my own creative output and historical portfolio.
I am delivering various research interventions which I will document using quantitative and qualitative methods and present to peers and industry professionals in both academic and community environments.
Research is at the heart of my ongoing practice in dance with the desire to bring progression, excellence and evidence based teaching and practice methods in to education and professional dance practice in Scotland and beyond.
